Next Upcoming Trip in March 2012

From March 24^th to 31^st 2012, MSMI will travel to San Pedro Sula, Honduras for one week to explore first-hand the factors that influence the quality and delivery of healthcare in a developing country. Medical students and physicians will work alongside Honduran physicians at a local hospital, exchanging ideas as international colleagues. Students will assist in a variety of surgical procedures, and physicians will bring their expertise and perspective in a collaborative effort to provide excellent patient care. We look forward to strengthening our relationships in Honduras, where we have been offering medical aid since 2004.

In our 8^th year going to the Leonardo Martinez Hospital, MSMI continues to strive to integrate educational experiences for medical students with service to international health needs. To make this trip a success, we need your help. The expected cost of our upcoming trip to Honduras is approximately $12,000. This sum includes curriculum materials, the cost of room and board (*although participants pay for airfare out-of-pocket), in-country transportation, medical supplies, and other logistical expenses. We realize that these are tough economic times, but for this reason we are even more dependent on your help.
